Many War Nurses Disabled
Nearly 60 women are among the 3000-odd members in Australia of the Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers' Association.
All are former Army nurses who, because of war-caused disabilities, are unable to work. Some branches have granted them honorary membership. The two women of WA's 270 members are Sister Mary Teasdale, now in Hollywood Repatriation General Hospital, and Sister Kathleen Ryan, both veteran nurses of World War I. A third member, Sister E. Chadwick, died a few months ago.

76 Nursed Anzacs
The Anzacs who stormed the cliffs of Gallipoli 33 years ago are a live memory to former Army nursing sister 76-year-old Mary Nicholson Teasdale. She nursed the original Anzacs at Egypt, Cairo and Port Said. Now a patient at Hollywood General Repatriation Hospital, she smiled reminiscently at the mention of Anzac Day. Her great regret: She will not be able to attend the Dawn Service. Her opinion: 'The boys of World War II are treated far better than those of World War I, especially the disabled men.

Nurse Of World War I Dies
Sister Mary Nicholson Teasdale (76), a returned Army nurse from World War I, died yesterday at Hollywood Repatriation Hospital. With Sister M. Briggs, of Ventnor-ave., West Perth, Sister Teasdale left Australia in 1917 and served in Egypt. After she returned to WA when the war ended, Sister Teasdale worked as matron at numerous country hospitals.

The death occurred yesterday at a private hospital in Melbourne of Miss Olive Margaret Ann Templeton daughter of the late Mr William Templeton former manager and a founder of the Trustees Executors and Agency Co Ltd. Miss Templeton was in the Australian Army Nursing Service during the last war and In 1917 went to Salonika Greece where she remained until the Armistice. She was matron of the Talbot Colony for Epileptics for a number of years and more recently was associated with various war welfare activities. She was a sister of the late Mr Colin Templeton, former director of Broken Hill companies.
There will be a private funeral today at 10.30am to the Springvale Crematorium. B Matthews Pty Ltdhas charge of the arrangements.
