FIDLER—SPALDING.
A wedding was celebrated on Tuesday, November 7th, when Miss Florence Spalding (Sister Spalding, who received her training at the Orange Hospital), second daughter of Mrs. Spalding, of 'Hope House," West Esplanade, Manly, was married to Mr. Leslie Fidler, of 'Ravenswood," Gordon. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Alex. Simms, B.A. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law (Mr. Booth, late of Orange Lands Office, and now of Lindfield), wore ivory crepe-de-chene, trimmed with tulle and ninon, and pink picture hat. She also carried a shower bouquet, and wore a signet ring, the gift of the bridegroom.The bridesmaid was Miss Addie Spalding (sister of the bride). She wore an ivory merv. silk dress, saxe blue picture hat, and carried a shower bouquet. Her gold brooch was a gift of the bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a wristlet watch. Mrs. Spalding (mother of the bride) wore black crepe-de-chene, with hat to match. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at Manly. The happy couple were the recipients of numerous valuable gifts. Sister Spalding for the past two years has been on active service on the hospital ship "Neuralia,"and for distinguished services received the Royal Red Cross and was also mentioned in despatches. The ceremony has been fixed for July 14 at All Saints' Church, Northcote. Miss Sprigg saw service with the A.A.N.S. in India and on the Persian Gulf, and was one of the most popular sisters at No. 3 Base Hospital. Captain Brown, who is a nephew of Mr. James Gardiner, served with distinction under Colonel Collett in the 28th Battalion. Upon being invalided home, he was engaged for some time at Francis-street head-quarters, and was subsequently transferred to an appointment in Melbourne. WEDDING IN EGYPT
Miss Florence St. George Sproule was the ninth army nursing sister to be married in the Garrison Chapel, Abbassia, Egypt. On March 27 her wedding was celebrated there with Captain Walter Green Ivor Frederick Steele Hewett (2nd L.H. A.T.F.), son of Mr. T. P. Hewett. St. James Square, London. This Harrison Chapel is part of the Australian General Hospital Building. Sister Sproule was attached to No. 1 Australian General Hospital. The bridal party was in uniform. The bride, who was given away by Colonel W. E. Summons, A.A..M.C. (Camberwell), wore a mess uniform of grey silk. Miss Lorna Cook (Flinders), her bridesmaid, who is engaged in patriotic work in Egypt, appeared in her Red Cross uniform. Mrs. Hewett, who is a daughter of the late Mr. James Sproule, of Flinders, returned recently to Melbourne. At present she is staying with Mr. W. St. G.
